This landed on my desk a couple of months ago and I've been meaning to post about it for a while but instead of writing about it straight aaway like a normal blogger would do, I put it in my pile of 'Things To Write About' and it never saw the light of day again. Well, that was until a few weeks ago when I sorted through my pile and tried to sort out what I actually needed to write about and what I could put off for a little while longer.
I wish I could say that I'm a big fan of the Elizabeth Arden cosmetics range but, to be completely honest, I've never actually given it a long enough look. When I think of Elizabeth Arden I think of Red Door (obvs!) and 8 Hour Cream (double obvs!) but the makeup range has never really caught my eye.
The Rose Aurora collection is the Summer offering from the classic brand and besides the slightly dull packaging, the collection is actually quite pretty.
The collection is made up of a lipstick, bronzer, highlighter and powder brush and they are all cased in rose gold, which I absolutely love.
Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Rose Aurora - £19.00
I didn't think the lipstick was going to be a very 'me' shade because I tend to go for brighter pinks but I was wrong because it has turned in to a 'going out after work for a drink' lipstick that gives just the right amount of colour.
Pure Finish Bronzer Powder in Soft Radiance - £25.00
I'm not a big bronzer person and tend to go for my NARS Laguna when I need a little bit of contouring but I can see myself picking up this pretty bronzer instead from now on. With very little shimmer once swatched, the finely milled bronzing powder isn't too 'bronzy' so I would definitely use this to add warmth to my face or to complement a tan, if I ever get out of this country!
Pure Finish Highlighter in Rose Illumination - £23.00
I have been using this highlighter for a month or so now and it adds the prettiest glow to my cheeks that I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a highlighter but doesn't want a shimmerfest on their cheeks. I tried using this with the bronzer and there wasn't enough colour pay off for me but when used with a matte pink blusher, it gave a really nice flushed look which is perfect.
All in all, I have to admit that the Rose Aurora collection is a simple yet beautiful range that has definitely made me more interested in the rest of the Elizabeth Arden cosmetics range. The shades are all are wearable and look like they might suit most skintones so if you're near a counter any time soon then you should make a point of having a look at the collection.
The collection is available now from the Debenhams website and counters nationwide.
Are there any other Elizabeth Arden products that I should have a closer look at?
Until next time...Keep swivelling those hips in your
